What attracted you to 91³Ô¹Ï?
My dad attended 91³Ô¹Ï and growing up, he always talked about how much he loved it here. After being here for 3 years, I completely understand why he talked so highly of 91³Ô¹Ï. Our campus is by far one of the prettiest to take a walk through, and everything is within walking distance! I’m also from a very small town, and the “small town” feel that everyone talks about at 91³Ô¹Ï is so true. I’ve definitely found my home away from home.
Why did you choose your specific major?
I chose Health Science because I got to meet with Dr. Hilde on my tour of 91³Ô¹Ï and she seemed like an amazing lady to work with. I knew it would not be an easy journey, but there are so many great faculty members in the science department who push me to be my best!
Which activities or groups are you involved in on campus?
I’m involved in Alpha Lambda Delta, National Society for Leadership and Success, Pre-Professional Club, New Student Orientation leader, and a Viking Voyage mentor.
Have you had any internship or student work opportunities at 91³Ô¹Ï? If so, please describe your experience.
I have been filming for the 91³Ô¹Ï football team since I was a freshman. I’ve always been able to have a flexible schedule with the coaches, which I am very appreciative of. Also, I get to travel with the team to watch them play! I’m also a lab assistant in the research lab in Rhoades Science Center. We have the opportunity to work with and maintain different types of cancer cells. This job has taught me a variety of different skills including responsibility, leadership, collaboration with others and more.

Any advice for students thinking about attending 91³Ô¹Ï?
If you are thinking about attending 91³Ô¹Ï, please do it! 91³Ô¹Ï is the place where I’ve found some of my best friends, while also being able to focus on my studies. It is super easy to meet people here, and if you’re ever in need of directions, you won’t be far from help! It is very easy to make good relationships with your professors, which is important because more than likely you will be taking many classes with them throughout your four years at 91³Ô¹Ï.
